To recognize World Emoji Day a list of the emojis coming to a smartphone near you later this year has been released.
A list of 13 Emojis were approved by the epic-ly named Unicode Consortium back in January. And today, we get a peek at them to celebrate World Emoji Day.
3 of the upcoming emojis seem very timely, I’m looking forward to telling my people how much I feel like the masked Ninja when I wear my mask, and there’s also a realistic looking heart and lungs. Also on the list are emojis for bubble tea, the one people are already starting to call the “Italian Hand” that looks like someone trying to express how good their food was, there’s a transgender symbol, a beaver, a boomerang, a do-do bird, a silver coin with an eagle and “The Crazy Ones” embossed across the top, a festive looking pinata, a Russian nesting doll and a tamale.
The Android list seems to have a couple of revisions of previous emojis to add to the list. Those include the turtle, frog, hatching chick and pig face. As well as unveiling its new emoji designs, Google is also rolling out its new quick access emoji bar more widely, which gives Gboard users a more convenient way to access their frequently used emoji rather than having to open up the specific emoji menu.
In the meantime, you can plan how your going to use the new emojis and celebrate World Emoji Day by sending some hearts to someone you love today.
