Every Monday-Friday at 10 pm on 106.3 Radio Lafayette, we give you a listen to some of the freshest tracks from your favorite artists with the 10 O’Clock News! In case you missed it, here are some quick hits of new music that we did air on Monday, March 25th.
The National – You Had Your Soul With You
The lead single off of the group’s eighth full-length album “I Am Easy to Find” is simply fantastic. The background vocals on the track might sound familiar and that’s because of the fact that it’s Gail Ann Dorsey who has worked with some of the most iconic artists in history. From David Bowie to Lenny Kravitz, Dorsey has been a proverbial Swiss army knife for a lot of great artists and her contributions to this track shouldn’t go unnoticed. The full album is coming out on May 17th.
Flora Cash – They Own This Town
If you were at NiteTown for our Ugly Christmas Sweater Holiday Party, then not only were you a part of an outstanding event but you actually got to hear this for the first time during the show. Not only that, this was the first time they had ever performed it live and it sounds even better as part of their latest EP called “Press”. I’d recommend picking this up when you get a chance because it’s really good.
Noah Kahan – Mess
It’s always fun learning that song titles change as the writing process moves forward. The original title for his new track was originally called “Feeding the Dogs” largely because they inspired the tune. While it doesn’t reference his pets in the title of the song, the album cover for the single does feature a silhouette of a dog.
Local Natives – When Am I Gonna Lose You
The group is getting ready for a new album called “Violet Street” that will be out on April 26th. This song is definitely a personal one for Taylor Rice, all about his experience when he got married and felt like this relationship would fall apart despite it being an incredible relationship with someone.
