I’m a big professional wrestling fan and have been for about two-thirds of my life and one of the perks of working in media is without a doubt talking with superstars of the WWE. With Monday Night Raw coming to the Cajundome, it gave me a chance to talk to one of the veterans in the WWE in Natalya Neidhart.
When you think of the WWE and female wrestlers (or Divas as they were previously called), you might think about the bikini contests and valets of the past. Well, the days of three-minute matches in front of an inattentive crowd is a thing of the past and some might say that the first third-generation female superstar and the lone female to graduate from the Hart Dungeon was one of the precursors to the boom in popularity when it comes to women’s wrestling.
The WWE just had their first all women’s PPV event highlighted by a phenomenal match between Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella and we seem to be on a collision course for a women’s match to main event the biggest show in all of sports entertainment; Wrestlemania.
During her time in the media car wash, I had a chance to talk with her about her time in the WWE, life on the road, being on Total Divas headed into its ninth season, and why you should be making your way down to Cajundome to see all your favorite WWE Superstars in the middle of the road to Wrestlemania.
