Sharon Van Etten used to self-release handmade CDs until 2009. Now her song Seventeen is #9 on the Adult Alternative chart.
Originally from New Jersey, moving to Tennessee for college and staying after dropping out until 2004, then she was back in New Jersey, then onto New York in 2005.
In 2016 she began her acting career in the Netflix original series, The OA. She also appeared in 6 episodes of the 2017 series Twin Peaks on Showtime. She’s now returned to continue her role as Rachel on season 2 of The OA, which released March 22.
This year, she released Remind Me Tomorrow, her 5th studio album, she’s appeared on Conan and Jimmy Kimmel and she is killing it.
