CHRIS CORNELL Higher Truth (fifth solo studio album, produced by Brendan O’Brien) (UMe) Chris is an American rock musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist, primary songwriter and rhythm guitarist for Seattle rock band Soundgarden and as former lead vocalist and songwriter for the supergroup Audioslave.
Cornell chose producer Brendan O’Brien (PEARL JAM, STP, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, BLACK CROWES, BOB DYLAN, ETC…) as a collaborator to create a more intimate sound for the record. On recording drums for the album, Cornell has stated that “most of the songs with drums are either loops that I made electronically or that Brendan basically recorded just playing a little drum kit he had,” Cornell says. “We just made loops, layered things and played some percussion stuff.”
LANA DEL REY Honeymoon (UMG) Honeymoon is the upcoming fourth studio album by American singer Lana Del Rey. Del Rey said in an interview with Billboard that the album was “very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die (2012) and Paradise (2014). I finished my last one in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It’s growing into something I really like. I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good.” More @ lanadelrey.com
