Welcome everyone to another preview of the upcoming weekend in football! After a great weekend of games, I’m even more excited for this weekend!
High School: Teurlings vs Breaux Bridge
We do air Teurlings Rebels football here on 106.3 Radio Lafayette, so I might as well show them some love! They’re taking on Breaux Bridge, who looks like an entirely different team from last year. They had quite a few seniors leave, especially on the defense which was where they specialized in last season. Teurlings looks to bounce back after last week’s loss to Notre Dame who was notably without Tyler Shelvin who showed up Friday with a walking boot. This should be a fun game for the Rebs and possibly a win!
College Football: Arkansas vs Texas A&M
This could be a preview of things to come in the immediate future in the SEC West. Both teams are unbeaten at this point in the season and have some great players that can make this a hyper-competitive game. Expect to see a lot of Myles Garrett, who many people including myself think he will be one of the top defensive players in the 2017 NFL Draft. If both coaches stay on at the end of this season, both could be shaking things up in the near future in the world of the overstacked SEC West.
Pro Football: Saints vs Falcons
I’m cheating a little bit as I try to avoid in-state for college and pros, but how can you not pick this as your must-watch game? Almost ten years to the day of the Saints return to the New Orleans Superdome, the Saints play the Falcons. The video above is a bunch of highlights of the game itself. One of the greatest moments in Saints history. Returning to the dome after one of the most destructive storms to ever hit the state. And of course, Steve Gleason’s blocked punt will never be forgotten.
