Welcome everyone to the much anticipated return of the weekend preview for the football fan! Whether you’re a casual fan or a die-hard football fanatic, this article is just for you! This week’s a little more interesting since the Tigers and Cajuns don’t play, but there’s still plenty of enjoyable football you need to check out!
High School: Teurlings vs Carencro
The Carencro Golden Bears have been one of the best teams all season long currently with only one loss on their record to St. Thomas More. This 4-4A matchup is huge for both parties even if both teams are on the outside looking in when it comes to the district crown. And it’s going to be live right here on 106.3 Radio Lafayette with Scott Brazda and Cavon Bordelon with kickoff set for 7 pm and pregame at 6!
College: Utah vs Washington
This is going to be a fun game with some major implications for the college football playoff hanging in the balance. Washington is currently undefeated and are taking on a good Utah team that can surprise the world as it’s a midday game in the Pac 12 on Fox Sports 1. Whoever wins that game puts themselves in the driver’s seat for winning the Pac 12 and trying to slide into the playoff.
Pro Football: Saints vs Seahawks
I’m genuinely excited for this game. The Saints aren’t looking great, but the Seahawks are literally the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of the NFL. After a 6-6 tie on primetime TV, this team will probably drop 30 points on the Saints and the defense will have their way with Drew Brees.
Bonus: Cubs In the World Series
This has to be mentioned, the Cubbies are in Wrigley for the next three games and it’s the World Series. Even as a non-Cubbies fan, I’m excited to see if they can clinch the series at home as they are currently tied at one game apiece. This is a team that hasn’t won one since 1908 and this could be the year they finally do it. Maybe the writers of Back to the Future were just a little bit off.
