As a big fan of the TV series Rick and Morty, I’ve been patiently waiting for season three of one of the best shows Adult Swim has ever produced.
The second season ended on a cliffhanger which I won’t spoil here because if you haven’t watched the show before, you need to get on Hulu and watch the 21 episodes before this summer when the third season truly begins.
Just as Adult Swim’s Saturday block was getting started, many people were planning to watch the latest episode of the Samurai Jack reboot (which is also awesome). However, what they got was a brand new episode of Rick and Morty. Dan Harmon and Adult Swim worked together on this April Fools joke after numerous people have been demanding that season three be released. Everyone thought they’d get pranked into clicking the link to the livestream, myself included.
Thankfully, that wasn’t the case as the Cartoon Network’s nightly TV block played the season premiere until midnight on the east coast and west coast. It also saw several ads for Carl’s Jr. and Hardees so maybe they had a hand in getting this done.
Also, if you missed the television event live, Adult Swim has it streaming on a loop here. And with the weather in the area being less than ideal, now’s the perfect time to watch “The Rickshank Redemption” if you’ve been patiently waiting for your favorite dimension-hopping grandfather-grandson duo to return to your TV screen. Personally, I’m still waiting for my Mulan Szechuan Teriyaki McNugget sauce.
