Born & Raised in Cajun Country, Lane Mack knows a thing or two about letting the good times Rock and Roll! He is always challenging his versatility, from playing guitar with Lafayette Louisiana folk artist Sean Bruce one night to switching gears effortlessly to soul music with season 5 finalist of The Voice Ray Boudreaux. Lane Mack owns the stage with masterful guitar licks and a vocal range that surpasses many.
Lafayette’s very own Quiet District will be playing a show this Saturday, June 20th at Sal’s Saloon in Monroe, LA! The show starts at 7:00 PM.
This South Louisiana Soft Rock group will be stopping by their home state of Louisiana during their Sun Belt tour this summer. Special guests Morgan Brown & Voyager 77 will be joining them this Saturday, don’t miss out!
Ahhhhhhh! JOHNNYSWIM will be stopping by L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles next Thursday, June 25th! The show starts at 8:30 PM with doors opening at 7:00 PM. This soulful duo will definitely get your feet moving.
JOHNNYSWIM is a Los Angeles based duo composed of spouses Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez. The two began writing and singing together in the spring of 2006 and found that their similar influences of folk, soul, and rock blended together lusciously. Nashville newspaper “the Tennesean” describes JOHNNYSWIM as ,”A mix of Lauryn Hill and John Mayer”. Amanda Sudano spent her summers touring the world as a backing singer for her mother Donna Summers. I could not contain my excitement when I found out they are coming to Lake Charles! This is a group I have been looking forward to see for a long time. I hope to see you all jamming to this refreshing duo!
Denton Hatcher will also be playing next Thursday, June 25th at Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s in Baton Rouge. The show starts at 10:00 PM.
I had the opportunity to catch this guy playing at The Ghost Light in Hammond, LA and was beyond words. Americana musician Denton Hatcher is one of the south’s budding singer-songwriters.If a man’s musical taste reads something like a journal, then Hatcher’s influences have helped cultivate an eclectic yet deeply personal sound. From Otis Redding to Hank Williams to Warren Smith (Hatcher’s cousin who played on Sun Records), Hatcher draws inspiration from many styles, but his music stands together like a strong foundation, one that quickly reaches the audience, opens their eyes a little wider, and gets their toes tapping.
Make sure to support your local musicians and catch some of their upcoming shows! Till next time, this is Maria Pizzati-intern @1063RL signing off.
