No, Crane flies aren’t taking over, although it may seem like it. The annoying little insects are all over the place. They look like giant mosquitoes, but they’re not. Flying insects are reproducing at a rapid pace right now, due to plentiful rainfall. High moisture is conducive to winged insects, like mosquitoes and crane flies breeding. Here’s the good news. They provide food for multiple animals, and they don’t bite. Don’t let ’em creep you out. They’re harmless and only live about 3 days.
