The Christmas season is costly enough without getting scammed. If you’re going big with holiday decorations, beware. When searching online for holiday decor, be wary of advertisements on social media. They monitor your browsing, and you’ll receive multiple ads for items you’ve searched for online.

If you see a great deal, make sure it’s legit. Check for a company website. Look for verifiable contact information. If there’s no phone number, that’s a red flag. A physical address is a good sign. Don’t buy on impulse. A few minutes of research can save a lot of aggravation…and money.

If a deal seems too good to be true, it most likely is. Use a credit card instead of a debit card. You can dispute fraudulent charges. With a debit card, you’re screwed if you get scammed.
