Welcome everyone to my weekend sports preview! It may be Christmas weekend, but there’s tons of sporting events to enjoy with the family!
High School: STM Sunkist Shootout
This is a little bit of cheating since it’s not on the weekend, but this is one of the coolest basketball tournaments in the Acadiana area. STM hosts this every season and has a ton of really good teams. If you have a chance next week to check it out, I’d highly recommend you spend a few bucks over there and enjoy some good high school hoops.
College: Louisiana Tech vs Navy
If you want to enjoy some college football on your Friday night before you’re surrounded by family, I’d say that Louisiana Tech and Navy is worth it. It’s in the middle of the day and if your Christmas shopping is done, this is something you need to get in on. One of the best parts is that it’s one of the first games featuring a team in the top 25.
Pro (NFL): Vikings vs Packers
I’ve separated these two because this weekend is full of holiday sports and this is a big one. Both teams are trying to get into the postseason with a possible NFC North title and Green Bay is on a big roll at the right time. Could we see Aaron Rodgers do big things against a Vikings team that had so much promise, but has started to taper off? We shall see.
Pro (NBA): Cleveland vs Golden State
You’ve got an NBA Finals rematch/preview on Christmas Day? Sign me and the rest of America up! Seriously, there’s three of the best players in the league all on the same court at the same time and if that’s not enough, this is the midday matchup so you can kick back and enjoy some hoops after Christmas lunch.
