Welcome everyone to my weekend in review in the world of sports! It was a wild one at all levels and saw some extremely entertaining games.
High School: Greg Williams Rises to Occasion
The LCA Knights suffered a huge loss in future LSU hoops player Galen Alexander when he sustained a knee injury in the first quarter. For most teams in high school, losing one player would cause a team to fall apart, but with a packed house in the Plex Greg Williams put together a near herculean effort to come away with a big win over the Carencro Golden Bears.
College: FCS Drama
In the middle of the first day of bowl season, the FCS semifinals were still going on with Youngstown State fighting for a chance to get into the national title game. The game would end with an amazing one handed catch to give the Penguins a big win. Congrats to Bo Pelini on making it to the FCS title game. Bonus points for the fake Bo Pelini account being one of the best by asking the Pope for divine intervention.

Pro: Saints Survive In Desert
After the last two weeks, it was refreshing to see the offense find its groove again. After throwing six interceptions and zero touchdowns, Drew Brees bounces back in a huge way with nearly 400 yards through the air to nine different receivers and four touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals, who were ranked 2nd in the league in defense.

As a big Cajuns fan, I had never been to the New Orleans Bowl during their four years of dominance for one reason or another. I wasn’t going to miss this year’s game thanks to its 8 pm kickoff. It has to be one of the more fun events I’ve covered and I’m forever thankful that I was able to do this with some great friends.
