Welcome everyone to the latest review of the weekend that was in the world of sports! Some underwhelming wild card matchups and some fun games on the hardwood.
College Football: James Madison Becomes Champs of the FCS
The biggest game in the world of college football is tonight, but that doesn’t mean that the FCS doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things. In fact, I’d say that this year’s playoffs have been better than the College Football Playoff mind you there were more games. You had one of the best catches of all time help lead Bo Pelini’s Penguins to this point and James Madison slayed the giant that is North Dakota State. And James Madison was able to walk away with the championship in a competitive matchup.
College Basketball: Coach Fight!
When two teams coaches don’t like each other, some yelling is bound to happen. Well at the end of the first half, a lot more than the exchanging of words happened. I actually wound up stumbling upon this while flipping between the FCS title game and Buzzer Beater (a service provided by the Worldwide Leader to watch whiparound coverage of the best games) and saw the tail end of the situation. Thankfully social media didn’t waste time posting the video.
Pro Football: Early Catch of the Year?
While the Wild Card Playoffs as a whole was underwhelming and kind of a snooze fest, but there was one moment where I freaked out and that was this catch from Paul Richardson of the Seattle Seahawks. I wasn’t watching this game, in fact I was actually at the Cajuns basketball game and saw all the tweets about it and checked it out afterwards and was left in shock. The amount of crazy catches I’ve seen over the last couple of seasons has left me numb to some of these, but one handed while hanging onto a defender is something I haven’t seen so it deserves some thumbs up!
