Clint’s Weekend Sports Review: Madness Has Set In

It sure was a wild weekend when it comes to Cajun country! From an extra innings war on Sunday to a false finish on the hardwood, the sports world in Lafayette had a flair for the dramatics.

College Baseball: Southern Miss Outlasts Cajuns on Sunday

The weather should have been an omen for what was going to happen on Sunday between the Golden Eagles and the Ragin Cajuns. Both teams made it entertaining, putting up several runs before tying the game up at 11 in the eighth. The game wound up going to extra innings, extending a game that was already creeping into four hour territory. Southern Miss was able to get four runs in the 11th and walk away with a big win after losing the previous two games.

College Hoops: UT Arlington and Cajuns Put on Classic

When it’s senior night, you expect to have a big game from the senior that’s performing. That’s exactly what happened when Jay Wright continued what he started on Thursday against Texas State. The senior was beasting and feasting on Saturday night and was able to lead this team to their sixth straight win. It was full of drama at the end of the game complete with the buzzer going off and the game then being reset with 1.8 seconds left. To put it in wrestling terms, it was on level with Omega vs Okada from Wrestle Kingdom. Six stars.
