Clint’s Weekend Sports Review: The Madness Begins

What a great weekend in the world of sports, more specifically on the hardwood! Catch up on what happened right now!

UNO Punches Their Ticket

While the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and LSU Tigers won’t be part of the big dance, there is a little bit of Louisiana flavor as the UNO Privateers won the Southland Conference to punch their ticket. The downside to it is that they will have to be in a play-in game on Tuesday against Mount St. Mary’s. Great season though for the Privateers and Coach Mark Slessinger.

Northwestern Goes Dancing (also Elaine from Seinfeld)

We're going to the dance, boys! @NUMensBball making history! #proud #B1GCats #poundtherock #NCAA @marchmadness pic.twitter.com/TpuoqtvxRV

Today I learned two things: Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a Northwestern fan and her son, Charlie Hall is a walk-on for the Wildcats. They clinched their first ever spot to the big dance and of course she had to use the Elaine GIF that has been associated with her since the 90s.

March Madness Hot Takes

Hot takes are all over the place as we get ready for the field of 64 to go at it. So here’s a few of my takes on the field and who you should write in for your bracket.

West Virginia is going to surprise people and make it to the Final Four.

Syracuse didn’t deserve to be in the field last year and really didn’t deserve to be in it this year. Committee was right to leave them out.

Keep an eye on Nevada as well, especially LSU. They need a new head coach, so why not look at a former assistant?

Calling it now: UNC and Villanova rematch for the whole enchilada.

Middle Tennessee will beat Minnesota in the first round.

Now you can save this article for later when I’m completely wrong.
