This weekend is Bo’s Extravaganza in Holden, Louisiana. It’s John Schneider’s birthday party. It is actually more like a festival. John Schneider has gathered up friends and celebrities to put together a huge event for all of his fans and friends. This extravaganza will also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Dukes of Hazzard and dedicated to the memory of Burt Reynolds. It is two days of music that will include a rare acoustic performance by Kid Rock. Other bands included are Whey Jennings, Jo-el Sonnier, and Bo Bice (Bo was a runner-up on American Idol. He lost to Carrie Underwood.) There will also be parades, fair rides, car stunts and more. Some of the cars from the Dukes of Hazzard will on display.
Now besides seeing John Schneider and the bands I mentioned. Someone else will be there! Attendees will also get to see Cody McCarver!
Cody McCarver was a member of Confederate Railroad for twelve years. Throughout this time, Cody McCarver had the chance to work with Charlie Daniels, David Allan Coe, and Merle Haggard. He says traveling and writing songs with Confederate Railroad was some of the best times of his life. McCarver was offered an opportunity to embark on a solo career. So he took it and left the band. He continues to perform and write music. He has three number one videos on CMT Pure Country. And has been recognized as the Music Row Magazine Independent Artist of the Year.
Cody McCarver grew up in the Tennessee mountains. He got his start playing piano at his church. Music is his connection to his faith. It helps him through dark times.
McCarver says he met John Schneider a concert a few years back. The two connected instantly. Cody McCarver is a fan of the Dukes of Hazzard so the two had a lot to discuss. Although Cody has admitted that his favorite character on the show was Daisy Duke. He says John is one of the nicest people he has ever met. John Schneider contacted him last year and asked him to perform at last year’s Bo’s Extravaganza event. It went really well so he is glad to be part of this years party.
