There was a plane crash that claimed five lives on Saturday morning in a wooded area behind the Walmart on Pinhook Road.
One person did survive the crash according to the Lafayette Fire Department. Three people on the ground were injured and have been transported to a local medical facility.
Walmart on Pinhook is closed and has been evacuated. The area around has been roped off by police.
Law enforcement is asking that everyone avoid the area of the crash at this time.
