Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Washington Edwards passed away Monday morning at his home in Gonzales with family and friends by his side. Edwards had respiratory problems and recently put himself on home hospice. He was 93 years old, just one month short of his 94th birthday.
Edwards was Louisiana’s only four term governor. He served 1972 – 1980, 1984 – 1988, and 1992 – 1996.
