Heart Announces Tour Stop at Cajundome in October

Posted by Raymond Partsch III on June 17, 2019 in Blogs

Heart will be bringing its “Love Alive” tour to the Cajundome this fall.

The 1970’s and 80’s chart toppers will be taking the stage in Lafayette on Saturday, October 5. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will serve as the opening act for the show — which will be the lone stop of the tour in Louisiana.

Heart, led by sisters Ann Wilson (lead vocals) and Nancy Wilson (lead guitar), have sold more than 35 million records worldwide, including charting top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 charts in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2010s.

Heart dominated the charts in the mid to late 1970’s with such hits as “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man” off of 1976’s “Dreamboat Annie,” and “Barracuda” off of 1977’s “Little Queen.” The group made a huge comeback in the late 1980’s with a more glam style on 1985’s “Heart” which produced “What About Love” and “These Dreams.”

Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Jett found success in the late 1970’s with The Runaways before heading out on her own in the 1980’s when she would become an icon.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts cranked out several hits including “Crimson and Clover,” “Bad Reputation” and the group’s signature song “I Love Rock’n Roll” which reached No. 1 in 1982.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. with an insiders pre-sale on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tickets start at $29.50 and are available at the Cajundome Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com.
