Nope, this isn’t an Onion article… Local comedian, actor, writer, fun dude and my Facebook “Official” friend, Zach Broussard is now off the market! I salute him on his long run of being single and dating “around” but, I guess the “Marriage Bug” finally bit him good… He proposed to his girlfriend of 5 years Mary Lordes and I couldn’t be happier for them both… What’s funny is how Zach proposed to Mary! Check this out…
Zach posted the good news on his Facebook stating, “This weekend I proposed to my best friend, Mary. The past five years of my life have been the best and it’s all because of her. Mary also made it clear over the years how much she hated engagement rings, so instead I got her a VERY NICE trophy. It reads Wife-Time Achievement Award. I’m humble enough to admit I’m a lucky guy. And screw it, I think she’s lucky too.”
Mary posted this response after the proposal… “Zach and I got engaged! This guy knows me well enough to know that I would never want a ring and would instead prefer to be presented with a trophy from Things Remembered in recognition of my achievement as an excellent girlfriend. I never thought this day would come, because I’ve never been interested in getting married. But Zach has been a true partner to me for the past 5 years and I have no doubts about making it official. Look out government, we’re coming for your benefits!”
For a minute I thought maybe is was a rehash of this fun he had last year…
