Tonight will be the EP Release Party for local area post Funk/Fusion band VHS at the Feed N Seed Lafayette! (You may remember that last year that they were the big winners in the band competition that we partnered with Artmosphere for.) Brass Mimosa will open the show about 9 and then VHS will take the stage at about 10:30p.
Now for a little history about how the band started…
VHS started as a summer project that ended up flourishing into a new group bringing a fresher taste of music to Lafayette. Featuring many players from Lafayette, band leader and keyboard player Cory Murray picked a line up from many different walks of music creating a new sound that embodies a New Orleans mind meeting deep talent rooted in Lafayette. With members having played in many groups of various styles including A Funk Band Named Machete, GreyStreet Band, The Monroe Symphony Orchestra, Brass Mimosa, Spyglass, Roaming Signals, Forming the Void, and guest performing with Armed Rhymery, Hunter Deblanc, and many other groups, VHS highlights each local influence in it’s nuances and sound.
Be sure to catch their show tonight and pick a copy of their new EP chalked with 5 slamming tracks!
