We have some great things in Louisiana, a vibrant culture, some of the world’s best food & music. Louisiana is home to some of the best festivals in the world. There is a list doesn’t reflect well on the Bayou State. Wallet Hub has released their 2023 ranking of the best & worst educated states. We’re near the bottom. Only West Virginia (50) and Mississippi (49) are ranked lower. Louisiana (48) also has the nation’s most violent schools, according to the survey. This contributes to a high absentee rate, and particularly low math & reading scores. You may ask which state ranks #1. It’s Massachussetts. Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont & Colorado round out the top 5.
