Brandon Young was the focal point of Saturday’s win over Arkansas State and the Cajuns pitcher earned LSWA Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday for his efforts.
The Lumbeton, Texas native was phenomenal on short notice Saturday night, throwing seven innings and allowed just one run off of four hits. He ended the night with 13 strikeouts, the most by a pitcher since Austin Robichaux struck out 14 on April 12th, 2013.
This is the second time this season a Louisiana Ragin Cajun has received a weekly award by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association. Hayden Cantrelle was the first to receive the honor back on March 26th.
