As of 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, the evacuation order includes all areas south of the Kelso Barou Bridge on the west side of the Calcasieu Ship Channel and all areas south of the Intracoastal Waterway east of the Calcasieu Ship Channel.

The following communities are under the order:

  • Hackberry
  • Johnson Bayou
  • Holly Beach
  • Cameron
  • Creole
  • Grand Chenier
  • Big Lake

Cameron Parish OHSEP also advises residents who live in areas prone to flooding to take precautions and finalize evacuation preparation plans. Campers and travel trailers should be removed from the areas of evacuation as well as low-lying areas that historically flood.

According to the Cameron Parish OHSEP, no roadblocks or road closures will occur during the evacuation process.
