Morgan Reviews – TRAVELERS

Posted by morganpierce on February 17, 2018 in Featured

Another Netflix Original, TRAVELERS is a sci-fi series that has not gotten the attention it deserves. The biggest name in the show is Actor/Producer Eric McCormak who you might remember as Will from Will & Grace and the reboot of Will & Grace, and the other actors, although relatively unknown, still captivate.

In the distant future a desperate humanity has found a way to send consciousnesses from their time, into the bodies of people today. These future “Travelers” occupy bodies to change events in the 21st century that negatively affect the future. The way they chose the bodies of the hosts they will occupy is fascinating, they use records to determine the Time Elevation Longitude and Latitude (T.E.L.L.) of a host’s death and the future humans use this info to transmit a Traveler’s consciousness into the host. So the hosts are doomed to die anyway and the Travelers see this as the least interfering way to change the past. Complications arise with inaccurate records and misleading social media profiles, but despite the trials, the team must carry on to complete their mission, even if it results in erasing their own existence.

Travelers have to deal with not only the missions they are assigned by “The Director” (an AI in the future giving the Travelers orders), but also the lives of the hosts they took. Each host has their own difficulties; drugs, marriage, high school, mental disabilities, kids, exes and more. It’s interesting to see how the Travelers balance the trying to improve the future with dealing with their present.

Check out Seasons 1 & 2 on Netflix.

TL;DR: People from the future make mistakes occupying the bodies of 21st century people, to correct the mistakes of 21st century people.
