One of the founding members of Mumford & Sons is quitting the band.
According to a report, Winston Marshall, the guitarist and banjo player of Mumford & Sons announced Thursday that he is leaving the band so he can be ‘free’ to express his political ideas and opinions on social issues.
Earlier this year, Marshall took a short break from the group when a few of his tweets created a social media uproar. The reports states that members of Mumford & Sons tried to get him to stay with the band but apparently his mind was made up.
In the article, it quotes Marshall as saying, “as long as I am a member of the band, speaking my mind of the evils of political extremism could bring trouble.”
