Break out the Hot Topic t-shirts and skintight jeans because for one glorious day in October, all the bands that many listened to in the early to mid-2000s are getting together for the When We Were Young Festival.

The Las Vegas festival is headlined by two heavy-hitters in the pop-punk and emo genres in My Chemical Romance and Paramore. My Chemical Romance attempted to return to touring in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to that while Paramore has reportedly jumped back into the studios for their first new album in five years.

Some of the other bands announced include Avril Lavigne, AFI, Jimmy Eat World, and Taking Back Sunday

As a millennial who had his iPod Classic filled to the brim with music from a majority of these artists, this brought me a ton of joy and I’ll likely be playing nothing but this music leading up to the one-day festival.
