NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans are all about helping each other out.
To accommodate fans to attend the Pelicans’ home opener at the Smoothie King Center on Friday, Oct. 25, the 31st Annual Saints Hall of Fame Induction/Gala has been moved to Saturday, Oct. 26. The ceremony will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Club XLIV and Encore at Champions Square.
The change in date enables fans to support the first home game No. 1 overall draft pick Zion Williamson and the rest of the Pelicans’ young roster on Friday before honoring two of the great players in Saints history, and a key contributor, the following day.
This year’s Saints induction class includes former wide receiver Marques Colston and former Saints running back Reggie Bush, both of whom were drafted by the Saints in 2006 and were key members of the 2009 Super Bowl XLIV championship season.
In addition to Colston and Bush, former Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco will receive the Joe Gemelli Fleur de Lis award for her significant contributions in helping get the Superdome repaired which allowed the Saints to return to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
All proceeds from the hall of fame event benefits the non-profit Saints Hall of Fame Museum, located at Gate B in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
If you have received tickets and cannot attend on Saturday, Oct. 26, please call (504) 471-2192 or e-mail [email protected]. You can call the same number or e-mail the same address or visit www.saintshalloffame.com if you are interested in purchasing tickets by credit.
