Salut Salon, a female chamber quartet from Germany, is anything but conventional when it comes to chamber music. The group became a quartet in 2008 and consists of two violinists (Angelika Bachmann and Iris Siegfried), a cellist (Sonja Lena Schmid) and a pianist (Anne-Monika Von Twardowski). Salut Salon mixes classical chamber with a multitude of genres from film soundtracks to old cabaret folk music.
The group thrives on a one-uppance sort of battling and old school theatrical comedy that includes a puppet named Oskar. They are a musically talented, interesting, uplifting group and so much fun to watch – check this out!
