So, I ran into Dwight J. Roy last night while walking to the Sickbay arts & music gathering in Downtown last night. We hadn’t spoke in person in quite some time except through our occasional Facebook messages… letting me know that new solo music was on it’s way. Well, that chance encounter last night while riding his bike to his gig opening up for local indie rock group Lillybrave at Artmosphere was great because he informed me that he would be dropping new music the next morning along with a new music video as well. Needless to say, I was happy to talk with him in person but, even more stoked to hear that I would be getting new music in my inbox early Sunday morning.
After, I wrapped up with Sickbay (which was pretty darn fun and shout out to Ryan DeJean and his amazing crew for putting it on) I headed to Artmosphere to hear Dwight J. jam with his Electric Seed crew. Such a great show from them as always, even though he was so humble in saying after the show that it could have been better… seriously one of my favorites to watch and hear perform in this town already overflowing with talent.
This new single he dropped on me is titled, “Missandei”and finds Dwight elevating his smooth sound and his name as a solo artist. The name of the new single is a character on the show Game of Thrones, which basically means that he’s a nerd according to him but, really… aren’t we all in some shape, form or fashion, ha! Just an F.Y.I. this is not an Electric Seed song, but instead it is from his upcoming solo project being recording with Norwood Recording Co.. So, Dwight J. Roy is what he’ll be going by for this new project and be on the lookout for it in the coming months.
