Davenport Cabinet is an indie rock band, formerly named English Panther, created in 2007 by Travis Stever, the guitarist for Coheed and Cambria. They’re named after a magic trick performed by the “Davenport brothers” in late 19th century.

Their very loose and raw full-length LP, Nostalgia in Stereo, was released in 2008, and received many positive and exciting reviews.

At first, Davenport Cabinet was, mostly a solo venture, aside from Rory Hohenberger sitting in on drums from time to time. In 2009 Stever began writing for a new record and brought in his cousin, Tyler Klose, a singer-songwriter and guitar player who was also part of a band called Breathing Walls.

In January, 2013 Davenport Cabinet released the full length LP, Our Machine – a massive mix of alternative folk, indie rock, and classic rock flavors – and people loved it! Below is the video for the title track.

Up until this point, they had never played shows under the Davenport Cabinet name, and did not have a full band. It was time for Stever and Klose to find musicians to have fill out the band so they could tour. Tom Farkas was first to join on bass, though he had previously made guest appearances playing bass and keys on Davenport songs.  Next to join was drummer Michael Robert Hickey from a band called Pictures in Braille – his style and personality were a perfect fit for the Cabinet.

They played their first show was in May of 2013, in Warwick, NY, which solidified the need to continue the live performance aspect of the Davenport Cabinet project.

The band began writing new material, and released an EP titled, Risks in Magic. The EP was released digitally and reached Number 25 on iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts.

The Risks in Magic EP came with 4 previously unreleased tracks.
One of those bonus tracks is “Second Son” that was originally recorded for Our Machine.

Their album, Damned Renegades, was released in September 30 of 2014.

And if you fall in love with any song of theirs… it will be THIS one – “Bulldozer” watch the video below!

Also from their album Damned Renegades, watch the video for “Aneris” below:

The LAST new album from Davenport Cabinet Selfish Angels came out October 14th!
