The Launch Box featuring Margaret Glaspy

Margaret Glaspy’s music can be described as lyrical and introspective, yet still raw, intimate, powerful, and edgy. Originally from California, Glaspy relocated to Boston after high school, where she attended the Berklee College of Music. Once she was out of of scholarship money, she would use her student ID to sneak into master classes to continue working on her musical ambition. When she moved to Brooklyn, she had new performing opportunities available, which resulted in a 2012 release of her debut EP, Homeschool.
Margaret Glaspy released a second EP, If & When, a year later. Cited in her album, she draws inspiration from Joni Mitchell’s iconic Bluealbum to Weezer’s Pinkerton. Glaspy’s strong vocals and often bluesy electric guitar made her stand out in the New York D.I.Y. indie scene.
After first demoing and then recording her first full-length album at home, she was approached by ATO Records. A deal was struck and she entered a proper studio to re-record the tracks, and playing opening spots for acts like The Milk Carton Kids, Lucius, and Lake Street Dive
This is “You and I” from her full-length debut, Emotions and Math, which released last month! (June 2016)
