Baby names come and go. Some of the most popular infant names come from high profile events or people in the news at the time of birth.
According to Business Insider, every year before Mother’s Day the Social Security Administration releases the most popular baby names from the previous year and then they break it down by the most popular baby name by state.
Some parents spend a lot of time deciding on a baby’s name. Sometimes the name can be a combination of two names from the grandparents or have some form of sentimental meaning. Then you have parents who decide to go with a name from pop culture. Either way in most cases the infant will have the name for life unless they decide to change it.
2018 was a year of repeat baby names. For the 5th year in a row, Emma was the most popular name for girls and for the 2nd year in a row, Liam was the most popular baby name for boys.
