I know I’ve been out of circulation is Acadiana for a while, after all, my absence has been felt for 15 years before returning home, but I have an awesome memory. As a matter of fact, my memory is so good it actually scares people.
I remember the Boudin Festival was an annual event in Broussard. I remember many seasons trampling in the park listening to music and sometimes slushing in the mud at the festival in Broussard.
Now I see the Boudin Festival is now an annual event in Scott and going as far as being crowned the Boudin Capital.
Regardless of where the festival will take place, you know there will be a lot of delicious hot links to devour! (and beer I betcha)
The Scott Boudin Festival is coming up Friday, April 5th through Sunday, April 7th on the municipal grounds near the City Hall building. I may add a brand new city hall. Holy cow, things have changed while I was away. The Scott City hall is beautiful!
In all fairness, Scott is home to some of the best boudin made in the state with Billys Boudin, The Best Stop and Don’s Specialty Meats. To be honest, I do not have a favorite spot to grab boudin. All three stores have delicious boudin.
The Scott Boudin Festival will feature live music, carnival rides, and games for the kids, the popular boudin eating contest and arts and crafts.
A few of the live musical acts are Kevin Naquin & The Ossun Playboys, Keith Soileau & the Soileau Zydeco Band, Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie, Dustin Sonnier & The Wanted and even more!
This event has grown to be one of the best festivals in the state. The Scott Boudin Festival will feature fun for all ages and a lot of good eats for sure.
You can see the complete musical line up here.
