After visiting our new record shop in town this past week, it was with happenstance that I ran across this list of the 37 coolest and most creative vinyl around from NME.com
Some of the coolest ones in the list in my opinion are:
Batman: The Animated Series
As I have mentioned before I am a huge Batman fan and I think I may need this in my collection! It’s music from the animated Batman series that was made available on Batman shaped vinyl.
Jurassic Park – OST
This one is cool with the recent release of the new Jurassic World film. On the original Jurassic Park film’s 21st birthday, movie-art enterprise Mondo released the original Jurassic Park score on a deliphosaurus-patterned vinyl. I love the yellow disc that looks like amber with the mosquito in it like Hammond’s walking cane in the film. Looks like someone spared no expense…
Perfect Pussy – ‘Say Yes To Love’
Yikes! Meredith Graves, the lead singer for band Perfect Pussy, infused her blood into 300 copies of their debut album. She filled a jar with the red stuff, which was then mixed into the melted vinyl.
Talk Talk – ‘Living In Another World’
This one is really cool because it was printed with a tiger, but cut in the shape of a butterfly.
