I still remember poring over the Columbia House mailers back in my teen years – trying to narrow down my list to only 8. Seeing the little boxes come in with the mail felt like Christmas. Ripping open fresh pressed copies of The Pretenders, Otis Redding, The Beatles – YES! Before iTunes, and Spotify – this was how many of us got our music fix.
Seems so long ago, (has it really been 20 years? OMG) yet I’m not surprised at the announcement that the mail-order record club is going out of business. I’m actually shocked that they were still operating in the age of streaming and digital downloads. Were you a member? What did you get? Feeling nostalgic -Mandi@1063RL
