NEW MUSIC TUES: FAMILY OF THE YEAR, THE ARCS, etc…

New-Music-Tuesday_658x370

Available This Week of September 4
FAMILY OF THE YEAR Family Of The Year (Warner Bros./Nettwerk) This is the indie rock band based out of Los Angeles self-titled 3rd studio album which is a follow-up from their 2012 sophomore release, Loma Vista. They are perhaps best known for their international chart hit, “Hero”, which became a top 10 hit in Austria, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland. Their music uses melodic male/female vocal harmonies and folk tale-style lyrics. www.familyoftheyear.net

THE ARCS (Dan Auerbach side project) Yours, Dreamily (Nonesuch) “This project was about making music with some of my longest relationships in music,” Auerbach previously said of his latest venture. “Leon, Richard and I have not only worked in the Black Keys together, but we have produced together, played on various projects of each other’s and we’ve collaborated longer than a lot of bands stay together. It just kind of came naturally.” Yours Dreamily follows the Black Keys’ most recent album, last year’s Turn Blue. In 2009, Auerbach released his debut as a solo artist, Keep It Hid. www.thearcs.com
