HBO Series ‘Vinyl’ To Relive The 1970s Music Biz

Of course after my last blog about Cassettes making a comeback… I find out that Vinyl is fighting back with a new show on HBO!

Check this out, Vinyl, is a new drama series from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter, debuts in 2016 on HBO.

If you worked in the music business in the 1970s, a new HBO series may just bring back — or fill in the missing — memories of the era.

From MARTIN SCORSESE, MICK JAGGER and TERENCE WINTER, this new drama series is set in 1970s NEW YORK. A ride through the sex and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop, the show is seen through the eyes of a record label President RICHIE FINESTRA, played by BOBBY CANNAVALE, who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path.

Additional series regulars include OLIVIA WILDE, RAY ROMANO, ATO ESSANDOH, MAX CASELLA, P.J. BYRNE, J.C. MACKENZIE, BIRGITTE HJORT SØRENSEN, JUNO TEMPLE, JACK QUAID, JAMES JAGGER and PAUL BEN-VICTOR.

Get those DVRs ready to roll in JANUARY 2016.

Love the music in the trailer… It’s “Personality Crisis” by the New York Dolls.
