Radio stations around the country are paying tribute to PRINCE today by playing his version of “Nothing Compares 2 U” at 6:07 P.M. Eastern Time. (3:07 Pacific, 5:07 Central.)
Why today, and at that specific time, you ask? Because that’s when it will be “7 hours and 13 days” since he died. The first line of his version of the song is, “It’s been 7 hours and 13 days / Since you took your love away.”
If you’re confused about that timeline, it’s probably because the SINEAD O’CONNOR version says it’s been “7 hours and 15 days.” And yes, she recorded the song first, and hers was a bigger hit. But Prince WROTE it, so they’re doing it HIS way.
