Greetings! After casually checking my morning Twitter feed, I just needed to share with all of you the news about Pitch Perfect 3!
Hollywood has not had enough of the Pitch Perfect franchise. According to many sources, Pitch Perfect 3 is already in the works with writer Kay Cannon on board. The Hollywood Reporter stated, “Sources say negotiations have begun with Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two movies, to return for a third. It remains to be seen whether co-star Elizabeth Banks, a steward of the franchise as one of its producers, will return to the director’s chair.” There is not a confirmed director or cast at this time, but I am crossing my fingers for Elizabeth Banks to return!
As for the return of Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, these negotiations will cost an arm and a leg to reserve these two in the cast again. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “How a story would reunite the core Barden Bellas now that (spoiler alert) most have graduated college will be easier than making deals for such stars as Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, who sources say were paid about $2 million each for Pitch 2, which cost $29 million to make. That’s a step up from their fees for the original 2012 film, which were in the low-six figures for Kendrick and less than $100,000 for Wilson, whose Fat Amy became the breakout.” I would love to see the return of Hailee Steinfeld and see what is next for my favorite Pitch Perfect couple Benji Junk!
Do you think a third Pitch Perfect movie is a good idea? What other plots are you excited to see? The cast of Pitch Perfect 2 coincidentally had the same idea! Watch them talk about what they would like to see happen next:
