Kick off your Saturday early with the Bastille Day Celebration
Alliance Française de Lafayette and the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm will team up to host a Bastille Day Celebration at the Market from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Bastille Day is the French national holiday that commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the storming of the Bastille.
Here’s the schedule:
* 8:00 a.m. – Market opens. Alliance Française de Lafayette welcomes French-speakers of all levels to join a French circle at their information booth.
* 9:00-11:00 a.m. – Cajun Jam led by Terry Huval, the Huval-Fuselier Trio, and others. All are welcome to join in!
* 10:00 a.m. – Gallery Acadie hosts a cooking demonstration featuring two dishes from the Brittany region of France, Galettes and Kouign Amann.
* 11:00 a.m.- Members of the local Pétanque Club will offer lessons and demonstrate the French sport of Pétanque.
