Ellie Goulding Reportedly Taking A Break From Music After Tour

Posted by Matt on March 10, 2016 in Featured

British singer, Ellie Goulding has reportedly announced her plans to take a break from music after her tour finishes in October.

She is currently on tour in the UK in support of her third album ‘Delirium’.

The Sun spoke backstage with her after a show in Cardiff on Tuesday (March 8), Goulding allegedly attributed her plans for a break to her recent split from boyfriend, McFly member Dougie Poynter.

“People think I’m invincible but these past few weeks have been tough,” Goulding is quoted as saying. “When you’re in the public eye, it seems like you’re able to deal with stuff better than anyone else, which is not remotely true. I’m not in a relationship any more and that’s been hard. Having a break will be a good thing for me and my head.”

“I’m not writing new stuff. I’m not sure when I’ll release a new album. It might not even be next year,” she added. “I need time off for my own head. My plan is to have a month off in August and do more of my charity stuff and then next year I need to live a bit. Who knows? My situation has changed.”
