Foo Fighters Release the Ultimate Throwback To Help Music Venues

The pandemic has affected everyone differently. Music venues were hit among the hardest. Will our favorite venues survive through it to hold future concerts after this thing is over? It’s a hard question to answer. However thanks to bands like The Foos – there is hope. They’re contributing to the #SaveOurVenues and #SaveOurStages campaigns in a very unique way. If you’re a fan of the band, and ever wanted to get your hands on one of their classic tour tee-shirts, now’s your chance!

The Foo Fighters are releasing the original merch designs from their 1995 tour! If you don’t remember the shirt, it had the classic alien face on it (you know, the one shaped like a guitar pick with huge black eyes). There is some history behind the band’s connection with aliens. The name “foo fighter” for example, is what WWII aircraft pilots used to describe UFOs. Grohl’s Capitol Records imprint is called “Roswell Records”, which is a reference to the city of Roswell, New Mexico, known for the Roswell UFO incident of 1947… Needless to say, it’s the perfect shirt to re-release for any hardcore Foos fan.

Back to that question, “will our favorite venues survive?”… Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl seems optimistic, and said that he believes that eventually, we will find ourselves back inside venues for live music again.

For now, you can help the Foo Fighters raise money for these campaigns by getting yourself this throwback reprint tee. It comes in sage green, and it glows in the dark just like the original ones sold back in 1995! All of Foo Fighters’ proceeds from the sales of this shirt will go towards benefitting the National Independent Venue Association’s #SaveOurStages campaign and the UK’s #SaveOurVenues campaign. You can find them on the Foo Fighters’ official website here. There’s also a youth size in a slightly different shade of green for the little Foo fans out there too!
