Local favorites, The Rayo Brothers create an energetic amalgam of American music with influences ranging from bluegrass to blues to outlaw country, featuring sibling harmonies and combining acoustic instruments with rock elements. They are back and proud to present their new LP “Take You For A Drive” which is out today! They worked on these songs for over a year with producer Alden Chatham of Norwood Recording Co. and could not be happier with the result! They worked with many great folks to get the album to this release date… Chris Stafford (of Feufollet), Stephen Billeaud (of Royal Teeth), Sean Bruce, Peter Youngblood, Samuel Frazier, not to mention many others who let them borrow instruments or otherwise helped out (Burton Durand, Jon-David Mahoney, Logan M. LeBlanc, Kathryn Clay Hesse, and more).
With their sophomore release they want to take you away from the glossy billboards and cheap strip malls of the interstate, and onto forgotten highways where life is explored and appreciated for all its joys and sorrows. Drawing from 50’s pop, rockabilly, classic country, and bluegrass, the album portrays love’s triumphs and struggles through the lens of retro America. Like roadside attractions along old Route 66, each song draws you in with stories of first love, wanderlust, loss, and the hope of re-connection.
