UPDATE 11/17/15: Just got word my friend “Taco” Flores passed away this morning… I am so thankful I got a chance to visit and spend some time with him recently. We talked about why we got into radio and he said it was the love of music and of people which drives us…. the wanting to make someone’s day a lil better than it was. He told me to always strive to help someone in need because you never know when you may need it yourself one day. Thank you Taco for being that kind person to me when I needed it coming up in this business. Condolences to all of his friends and family. -Matt@1063RL #This1IsForTaco #RIP

Luis “Taco” Flores is one hell of a great human being and I’m honored to have had the opportunity to get to know him through our radio community over the years! He needs our support y’all… Taco has inoperable cancer. The cancer started at the end of the esophagus and has encompassed the stomach and pancreatic area and is spreading to other internal organs.
Bobby Novosad from 94.5 KSMB has planned this benefit for Taco and his two sons, Caleb, 13 and Jacob, 11. The benefit is to help defray his medical expenses. So, Wednesday, November 25th I am invited everyone to NiteTown at 524 Jefferson St. to the, “This 1 Is For Taco” benefit. We need your help in making the benefit a success! The doors will open at 8pm and admission is a $20 or more donation. There will also be a silent auction with some really cool items to bid on.
From Bobby: Taco is a thirty-year employee of KSMB. If you remember the KSMB Giant Jambox days, Taco was the driver. He attended all KSMB events, parades, festivals, and hundreds of bar and nightclub promotions. You might know Taco from the Cajundome where he worked security or have seen him working security for Mardi Gras events, UL baseball and football games as well as other UL events. Many know him as a proud member of The Jeep Jaunts or from spending time with him at the old Kingfish, Heartbreak, Basile Roadhouse, and The Purple Peacock or Daiquiri Shack in Eunice.
Some only know him as that familiar face that seems to pop up everywhere, but still, people know Taco. He is that reliable guy that shows up at all of our events… which is why THIS 1 IS FOR TACO!
Join us on November 25th, not only for Taco but also for his family, especially his two young sons Caleb, 13 and Jacob, 11. We need your help in making the benefit a huge success. We realize it is the night before Thanksgiving and we hope that serves as the best reason to join us… because what better way to spend the holiday than showing someone as incredible as Taco just how thankful you are to know him!
Thank you for your support!
