Antoine “Pops” Melancon, Sr. was a staple to Acadiana music. Sadly, Pops passed away early Tuesday morning, June 9, 2020. He was 88.
Pops was a friendly familiar face at live shows and dancehalls. On any given night, as long as the music was playing, he was dancing. He also became a regular at KDCG’s tapings of “Les Bons Temps Rouler” music television show, commonly seen two-steppin’ his way onto the screen at any given moment.
Tune in as we pay tribute Pops’s memory in the best way we can…by featuring clips of him dancing throughout the years to Acadiana’s Cajun and Zydeco artists on a special edition of “Best of Louisiana Music.”
