Run River North is a six piece indie-pop band based in California’s San Fernando Valley. They formed back in 2011, previously under the name “Monsters Calling Home.” Its early works were inspired by the band members’ Asian-American parents’ background. They had very humble beginnings, playing at venues across Southern California, including Super Concert, and the DRIP coffeeshop in Los Angeles’ Koreatown, doing what they love, despite barely making ends meet.

After filming a unique video for their song “Fight to Keep” in the back seats of their small Honda cars, they caught the attention of the marketing department at Honda, which used the song in a commercial.

Because of this, the car company secretly booked the band for a gig on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on September 18, 2012, and recorded this surprise as an ad. Watch the video below, it tells the story of how they got their big break! (Oh the FEELS!!)

Following a sold-out show at Hollywood’s famed Troubadour venue, the band signed with Nettwerk Music Group and officially changed its name to Run River North, and recorded their self-titled debut album, which was released in February 2014.

Here is a video for “No Excuses” from their first album. Such an odd way to begin a music video LOL

This is the video for “Pretender” from their latest album,  video, Drinking from a Salt Pond. (2016)

And check out their latest video, it’s for “Run or Hide” – also from the album Drinking from a Salt Pond. (2016)
