Local comic creators, Jason Bienvenu and Brandon Gary want to bring back the fun and joy they experienced as kids growing up in the mid 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with their new company Spero Studios. As far as I know, this is the first action figure company to be created in our fair state of Louisiana.
Their first offering is called Animal Warriors of The Kingdom and is inspired by their The Kingdom Comic Book featuring the animal warriors from the first story arc. Series one features the main Protagonist “Pale” and his Clear “Spectral” variant as well as 4 army builder characters to fill out the ranks of your ape armies! Each figure stands a little over 4 inches tall; features 18 points of articulation as well as weapons and accessories.” What’s cool is that the figure line is in the 4 inch scale and presented in a “cartoon style of the comic book source material” and don’t look too out of place next to some of the TMNT action figure offerings found in stores today.
They currently have a Kickstarter running where you can pledge for your own cool Animal Warriors of The Kingdom figures and get in on the ground floor of a great new local area business. You can also check out their Facebook page for graphics, prototypes, and demo videos. They even just announced a Kickstarter “Glow In The Dark” figure and accessories which sounds awesome! Plus, check out the awesome old school TV toy commercial they did to promote the new line of toys…
