Holy White Hounds formed in 2013 in Des Moines, Iowa – drawing inspiration from hard rock and indie pop like early Beck, Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age, and Nirvana. Holy White Hounds is made up of Brenton Dean (vocals/guitar), Ambrose Lupercal (bass), Seth Luloff (drums), and James Manson (guitar).

Operating under the rock & roll credo “We’re dirty but we’re not unclean/We’re mangy but you’d still let us sleep in your bed,”

They released their debut EP, Oh Mama, in 2014, and began touring with acts such as Cage the Elephant, Wavves, Surfer Blood, and Cake.

Here is “Sunday Morning” from their EP.

Last year, the band dropped the single “Switchblade” in anticipation of their debut studio LP Sparkle Sparkle, which followed later that September. Here is the official music video.

Frontman Brenton Dean said that their song “Blind” from their debut album, is a story about the coolest chick he ever met. She appeared to have lost her mind in the eyes of everybody else, but she always knew who she was. This song captures that tale, over two chords, for 3 minutes, watch the strangely captivating lyric video below.

While reading their info section on their website, I came across some very inspiring words from their frontman, Brenton Dean -“When I find myself somewhere in Missouri at three in the morning at a Wendy’s, I look around and realize there’s no place I would rather be. I’m with my best friends, doing something I’m proud of. All the hard work and long drives are worth it.” Ambrose adds: “The biggest thing I’ve learned is that if you’re challenging yourself emotionally and artistically, you can put your head down at night feeling fulfilled.”
